Soviet Era/Russian INERT RGD-5 Resin Replica
This auction is for an INERT 2 piece resin replica of the Soviet Era RGD-5 grenade (fuse/spoon & body). It was cast from an actual demilled RGD-5 grenade. The fuze and spoon are cast as one piece assembly in a durable resin. The assembly is dusted with a non-metallic silver powder, in the mold, that bonds with the gray resin and does a great job of simulating aluminum (other metals as well).
The body of the replica is cast with the threads in place to fit the fuse/spoon assembly. It is a good alternative to carrying your expensive and heavy original into the field, or an excellent display piece. The grenade was cast in a silicone mold so it holds all of the detail of the original, including some of the paint markings, if you look closely. This replica is cast in a dark gray resin, ready for scuffing and paint. As our replicas are cast in small batches, the color may vary slightly from gray to dark gray, from batch to batch.
