This hand colored glass slide is an ORIGINAL and it is NOT a reproduction. It was created to be projected onto the movie theatre screen before the film was released to promote the "coming attraction". Some people in the movie collectible world have said, that, glass slides are much rarer than the paper poster memorabilia from the same film and are very rare pieces of film history.

Plot Summary:
When poisonous devil-weed infects the grazing lands of cattle country, misguided ranchers , including George Larrabee (Robert Homans), burn off every acre of the infected area-the wrong thing to do. The State Agricultural Commission sends inspector Gene Autry (Gene Autry) and his pal Frog Millhouse (Smiley Burnette) to look into the problem but they encounter strong opposition and are even mistaken for bank robbers when they are found in possession of cash from a crashed crop-duster airplane whose pilot, Jerry Willis (Eddie Dean), they were only trying to help. Against all the opposition, Gene eventually persuades the ranchers chemical spraying is the only way to rid the grazing land of the devil-weed while also romancing the rancher's daughter, Sue Larrabee (Fay McKenzie) and saving the cattle from a fiery stampede.

Sierra Sue was Fay McKenzie's second film as Gene Autry's leading lady, following Down Mexico Way (1941). She would go on to appear in three additional films with Autry, Cowboy Serenade (1942), Heart of the Rio Grande (1942), and Home in Wyomin' (1942). Only two women appeared in more films opposite Gene Autry as his leading lady: June Storey (10) and Gail Davis (14).
Sierra Sue was filmed September 16 to October 1, 1941. The film had an operating budget of $88,425 (equal to $1,537,035 today), and a negative cost of $89,897.

Gene Autry was a famous singing cowboy western actor from the 1930s to the 1950s. He began singing on radio in 1928, and by 1931, he had his own show. But his big break came in 1934, when he appeared in Ken Maynard's "In Old Santa Fe", and the audiences liked this "
singing cowboy
", and the next year, he starred in a really wacky serial "The Phantom Empire", which had an underground civilization and robots, but Gene managed to duck away every chapter to sing on his radio show! In 1936, he signed with Republic Pictures, and that ushered in the era of singing cowboy westerns, which soon became much more popular than most regular westerns. He continued his singing, writing over 200 songs, including his greatest ever, "
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer
", which sold over 30 million copies. He had a hugely successful TV show, and there was all sorts of merchandising, including toys, games, and comic books. He invested wisely in real estate and bought radio and TV stations, as well as the California Angels baseball team, and he became one of the most successful actors turned businessmen ever. . He always appeared with his horse Champion. He has five different stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame (for movies, radio, television, recording, and live performance), the only person ever awarded five different stars! Autry passed away in 1998 at the age of 91.

, and A Knight of the West. She passed away in 2019 at the age of 101.
